Fuel Site Controller Now Enables Fuel Resellers and Fleet Owners to Administer Discounts
HODGKINS, IL, September 10, 2014 – OPW, a Dover Company (NYSE: DOV) and the global leader in fluid-handling solutions, is pleased to announce that fuel resellers and fleet owners can now set discounts for end users through the Petro Vend FSC3000™ Fuel Site Controller’s new tiered pricing options.
Discount pricing is administered through two methods: Tiered Accounts and Tiered Discounts. The method of the discount is determined by the user’s type of card. Tiered Accounts are compatible with network cards and proprietary cards; Tiered Discounts are only compatible with Gasboy® cards. For both discount methods, the FSC3000 allows 10 levels of discounted pricing, which can be set to any amount in tenths of a penny, for each product in the system. Dispensers offering a price-per-gallon displaywill automatically update the display to reflect the discounted price.
“These options enable fleet owners to set price discounts for specific departments and allow fuel resellers to set price discounts for loyal customers,” said OPW Fuel Control Product Manager Orlando Hernandez.
Tiered Accounts
How it works: With optional Tiered Accounts, pricing is assigned to the account profile associated with network and proprietary cards. Users who have a Tiered Account network card will be prompted to enter an account number at the Fuel Island Terminal (or Dispenser Terminal). Once the system verifies the account’s discount level, the FSC3000 authorizes the dispenser to pump fuel at the discounted price. For proprietary card users, the discount level is tied to the proprietary card file information stored in the Fuel Site Controller and therefore is automatically recognized when the user swipes his or her card.
Tiered Discounts
How it works: With optional Tiered Discounts, a predetermined discount level is hard-coded onto Gasboy-formatted cards. Users swipe the card at the Fuel Island Terminal (or Dispenser Terminal), and the FSC3000 authorizes the dispenser to pump fuel at the discounted price associated with that level.
