KPS Sales in China Doubles Due to Demand for Environmental Protection

Protection of the environment and fresh water resources is becoming a top priority for Chinese authorities trying to catch up with the consequences of rapid industrialization of the vast and densely populated country.
5-7 years ago, steel piping still made up the vast majority of fuel piping at retail fueling stations in China, with single wall plastic piping gaining ground at a decent pace. KPS was one of the first European plastic piping manufacturers to set up a sales office in China in 2002 to introduce plastic piping on the Chinese market. Once plastic piping gained acceptance as a replacement for steel piping, the demand for secure and leakage-free piping accelerated.
The KPS sales in China has more than doubled (!) in the last 2 years. China’s two oil company giants Petrochina and Sinopec have switched over to double wall piping for best environmental protection. On a sunny morning yet another container is loaded with KPS products and sent on its way to China.
The introduction of KPS Petrol Pipe System™ in China has been supported by the OPW KPS technical support team who trains and certifies all new installers to ensure high quality installations from the start. In 2015 the team, headed by Moon Liu, visited 110 locations for installer training and site inspection. This year they will visit 150 different sites.
China now ranks second in number of certified KPS installers, beaten only by South Africa. It came as no surprise when recently the 4000th certified KPS installer was a Chinese, Mr. Wang Zhen!
