Mason, OH –With the aim of better utilizing the synergies that exist within its four business units and eight global operations, the OPW Fluid Transfer Group recently announced that it would consolidate those assets into two distinct business units: OPWFTG Global Transportation and OPWFTG Global Chemical & Industrial. The desired result of this restructuring is to align its resources to more efficiently provide its global customer base with industry-leading solutions through its well-known brands that include Civacon, Midland, Hiltap and OPW Engineered Systems.
Kevin Cook, who previously was the Vice President of Sales & Marketing for OPWFTG entity Midland Manufacturing, Skokie, IL, will play a pivotal role in this transformation as he has been named Director of the Global Rail Business Unit. In this position, Cook will report to Tom Zant, the newly named Vice President of the Global Transportation Business Unit and the former President of Midland Manufacturing.
Cook joined Midland, the global leader in railroad tank car safety valves and equipment, as VP of Sales and Marketing in 2002. In addition to his sales and marketing responsibilities, Cook has been managing Midlands' remanufacturing operations since January of this year. Prior to joining Midland, Cook held Sales and Product Manager positions with ITT Engineered Valves, Grinnell Corporation and Tyco Valves & Controls. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, with a minor in Business Administration from Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, PA.
