OPW Fuel Management Systems Certification Policies

OPW-FMS Certification Policies:

  1. OPW Fuel Management Systems requires technician certification for the installation, startup and warranty maintenance of any fuel-control or tank-gauge system manufactured by OPW-FMS. Systems installed or started by non-certified personnel may not be covered under warranty. OPW-FMS also requires technician certification to qualify for OPW-FMS Helpdesk technical assistance (effective January 1, 2013).

  2. Technician certification on the OPW-FMS FSC3000™ family of fuel-control equipment requires attendance in a live classroom seminar and completion of a written test with a passing grade. The written test may either be presented in class or via a testing website. The FSC3000 family of fuel-control equipment includes the FSC3000 fuel-site controller, and C/OPT™, K800™ Hybrid, and FIT500™ fuel island terminals.

  3. Current technician certification on the OPW-FMS K800™ and AFC fuel-control systems, and EECO, SiteSentinel® iTouch™ and SiteSentinel® iSite™ family of tank gauges requires both attendance of a web-based seminar and completion of a written test with a passing grade. The written test may either be presented during the web-based seminar or via a testing website. Future certification on these systems may require attendance in a live classroom seminar and completion of a written test with a passing grade.

  4. FMS Technician Certification Period: Any OPW-FMS technician certification issued before June 1, 2013, will be valid for three years from its issue date. Certification earned on or after June 1, 2013 is now valid for a period of two years from the certification issue date.

  5. Technician re-certification may be obtained by passing an online recertification test. Technician re-certification must be performed prior to the expiration of the original certification. Failure to do so will result in the requirement to attend a live classroom seminar and completion of a written test with a passing grade.

  6. Should a product line undergo significant changes in hardware or software, online re-certification may be suspended for the specified product. In the event that this should occur, re-certification will require attendance in a live classroom seminar and passing a written test. The written test may either be presented in class or via a testing website.

  7. Current valid technician certifications are not transferrable in the event a technician changes their company of employment. Those certifications may be validated under a new company affiliation if the technician passes an online recertification test.

  8. OPW reserves the right to revoke certification for anyone attempting to falsify certification credentials to OPW or customers/end-users of OPW equipment.

  9. Any company, distributor or establishment that violates these policies risks revocation of certifications of all personnel in their employment.

  10. OPW reserves the right to revoke certification for any technician or group of technicians if they are determined to be lacking in technical ability or overall quality of service on installation or servicing of OPW equipment.
